All
of our dogs have been Veterinarian
checked, are current on vaccinations,
spayed/neutered, heartworm tested and
micro-chipped before being placed in a
new home. We will now take care
of sending in the microchip
registration for each dog we adopt
out. Because of this, as well as an
increase in Vet bills, gas prices and
mailing cost for our newsletter, we
have increased our adoption fees. The
adoption fee for puppies under a year
old is $225, dogs 1-4 years
$200, 5-8 years $175 and the fee
for seniors or mixes varies-depending
on how much we have invested in the
dog medically. It usually ranges from
$95-140. The adoption fee for
Golden mix puppies will be $150.
The fee is less for a "Special
Needs" dog. The adoption fee is
considered a donation, which can be
claimed on your taxes.
To adopt a dog, each applicant must
complete an Adoption
Application, which can be
downloaded from our website. Once
completed, you can email the
application back, or drop in the mail
to the Post Office Box listed. When
the application is received, it will
be reviewed and processed. You will
then be contacted to schedule an
appointment to meet with the dog(s).
If a dog is not available at that
time, we will add you to our waiting
list and call you when one comes in.
At
the time of adoption, you will be
asked to read and sign an Adoption
Agreement for the dog you are
adopting.
We invite you to visit our Available
Dogs page often to see the new
dogs. If we can answer any more
questions, please feel free to email
us! Be patient with us, as
we all work full time and volunteer to
help these wonderful Goldens in our
spare time. We will contact you as
soon as possible.
If you are unable to adopt a Golden at
this time, perhaps you would like to
sponsor a particular Golden. Contact
us for more information.
