Carmel is a
very sweet & loving mix,
about 4 years old who was
originally rescued from a
shelter in a rural area.
She had been turned over to the
shelter by her family, who said
they were moving and could not
take her with them. We rescued
her over a year ago, and she was
so timid and scared of
everything that we brought her
into our home to see if that
would help her. We don't
know her background, but she is
very fearful of many
things.....loud noises,
thunder/lightening, cars,
terrified of fireworks. We
don't know if because she came
from a very rural area, that
perhaps it was quiet and she
just is not used to the
"city noises" , but
this girl needs a home where she
can be inside as much as she
wants.....inside is her safe
place. She needs someone
who will continue to help build
her confidence. She has come so
far since she has been with us.
She used to hide if someone came
to visit--now she wants to go
greet and see what is going on.
Carmel is such a loving
dog....she is a great
snuggle-bug and she will get as
close to you as she can, and
settle in. She is a quiet girl,
who loves kids. There must have
been kids in her past, because
she is drawn to them. She
is good with most dogs, however,
she does not like to be jumped
on, or feel "crowded."
Carmel is a dog that does not
care about going to a dog park,
and she can never be off-leash.
She is too scared by different
noises and she would bolt. She
just wants to be with her people
and have someone love her for
who she is. As our house is
quite busy with people and dogs
coming and going, she would
sometimes get anxious and if
there was as scuffle with a
couple of dogs, Carmel will join
in. Not sure what that is
about--but we feel she would do
better in a fairly quiet home.
She also needs a home with at
least a 6 foot vinyl or wood
fence. She loves any squeaky
toy, or the soft woobies. She
will prance around and throw
them in the air! She also
enjoys the snow, and had a great
time this past winter. This
sweet girl has lots of love
& kisses to give to the
person(s) who provide her with a
safe and loving home.
