What a handsome Gordon Setter this boy is! Darby is 5 years old, stands quite tall and weighs about 80 pounds.  Darby has spent some time here at CGRR and is currently in foster care.  He is housetrained, good with kids, has been great with other dogs. He does need a bit of work on some of his house manners.....he loves to see what is on the counters, and he is so tall that it is easy for him to get to something if he wants! Darby was an indoor dog at one time, but circumstances changed and he was relocated to the back yard, with little attention, for about a year until the owner decided he deserved a better home.  He was terribly matted, so had to be shaved down and his coat is in the process of growing back. Darby loves going to the dog park with his buddies and likes to snuggle on the bed with you. He knows the basic commands, but he does have a stubborn streak at times, so he needs someone who will work with him. Like most Gordons we have met, Darby is pretty birdy....he loves to watch the birds and bark at them. He will need a home with a secure yard, and someone who will give him the exercise he needs. Gordon Setters are wonderful house dogs as long as they are able to get exercise daily.  They can  be kind of aloof at first, but once they settle in and learn a routine, they are great.  Darby is a beautiful boy, who stands tall & proud.  If you would like more information about him, you can email Steve or Debbie at  utgoldentails@cs.com
