3/7/10-UPDATE: Dash is now in a foster home and is doing great! He has a Golden foster brother - Brinkley, who is his new best bud! When the two first met, they sniffed a little, then played like they had been best friends forever! Dash is a wonderful dog - very happy and is definitely the social boy. His foster family has been taking him for walks every day and working with him on the basic commands. Dash has done well, but does need work on the "come" command. He is great in the house - in fact he prefers being inside, or would do great with a doggie door, so he could come and go as he pleases. Dash is also excellent with the two cats residing in the home. He will sniff them, give them a lick on the head, and then moves on. His foster family loves him, and have affectionately nicknamed him "Flash Gordon."

Life is one big dog party................isn't it???   If Dash could talk, we think that is what he would be saying!  Dash is a Gordon Setter mix - about 3-4 years old, who was supposed to be a research dog, but the study was cancelled.  No wonder he is so happy!  Dash has a little something else in him, but he is mostly a Gordon.  He has the Gordon Setter build, the soft silky coat, and the feathering.  His head and ears are different than a Gordon,  and he has blonde feathers on his butt!   This boy is wonderful.....he has the nicest temperament, and is great with other dogs, okay with cats and he loves the water.  As soon as he stepped into the rescue yard, he spotted the kiddie pool and he jumped in, laid down with a big smile on his face.  Dash is also like the Gordons, in that he will need lots of exercise, and he cannot be off leash in an unsecure area. Gordons like to roam, and they will follow their nose. If they pick up a scent, there is no hearing your voice calling them!   Gordon Setters are wonderful in the house as long as they get their exercise.  Dash is a quiet boy, and seems to know some of the basic commands. He is not a barker,  and seems eager to learn.   ;Dash is very agile, and will need a home  with a 6ft fence.  When he is excited he is jumpy, so he may be a bit much for toddlers.  Have you been looking for a walking or hiking buddy..........this boy would be great!  If you are interested in Dash, please send us your application and we will contact you with more info.
