Miss Sophie is a very sweet girl, about 9 years old.......who has been around for awhile.  She came to CGRR in July 2008 and fortunately has been in a wonderful foster home, with Jodie and her family.  Sophie  came to CGRR from an owner, who said they didn't have time for her and were frustrated with her allergy issues. She also needed surgery for an entropian eyelid, which we had done, and Sophie has been a much happier girl!  Sophie has done well at her foster home.   After several food adjustments, they have her on a food that doesn't seem to aggravate her allergies.  She has gotten  a bit of a break for the winter,  since we know now that she is allergic to some grasses and weeds.  Sophie is such an easy house dog!  She is really a very minimally demanding dog...she doesn't shed much for a golden (wow!), she lets you know when she wants a bit of petting, but is happy just hanging out with you.  Don't worry though, she will not let you forget her dinner!  Its one of her favorite things.  Her eye has healed up perfectly, and she is even on a new program to clear up her skin and itchiness which is going well.  If you happen to love throwing a ball, Sophie would LOVE to meet you.  She has worn us all out and has even taught our other dog to retrieve balls!
We are quite impressed with the improvement we have seen in Sophie on these new supplements.  Sophie is a lucky girl to have Jodie for a foster Mom, as Jodie has done alot of research in finding what works for Sophie.  She has been  on some products from  www.nzymes.com   and in just 2 months, there has been a difference in her coat....the hair on her face has filled back in, and her scratching  has almost stopped!  Jodie reports that Sophie seems much more comfortable and has a better energy level.  She loves to chase balls, but when inside she calms right down and is a great companion.
We are hoping that Sophie will be able to stay on her supplements if she gets adopted.   We will send some with her, but as Jodie has down so much work to find what works for her, we really want to keep Miss Sophie comfortable in her senior years.   As you can see by the new pics, she looks much better and healthier.......and she absolutely loves the snow!
