Jaxson
Jax is a very sweet eight-year-old boy, whose owners were getting a divorce. Both were moving and could not keep him.
Jax was a house dog and knows some basic commands. He is good with other dogs and cats are okay too. He would do best in a home with older or no children. He has not been around toddlers much, and we were told they seem to make him a bit nervous.
Jax is ball obsessed, and is also quite a chewer. We think he may have been left alone a lot, and developed a fixation for the ball.
One of our volunteers has been fostering Jax, and reported that things have gone very well! They play ball at least once a day outside, and no balls in the house, so he is not constantly obsessed. He goes for daily walks and is good on leash, but if he sees another dog, he will pull. He does not chew on anything that is not his. He is fine when left alone, he will whine at first, but settles down.
He is very good if people come visit. He does not beg or go after food. He does, love attention though.
Jax has some minor arthritis in his lower back. He had a small growth in his mouth, that fell out one day. Took him to get checked out and they sent the growth in for a biopsy. The doctor said it kind of looked like a skin tag. Turns out it was a benign growth, that should not come back.
Jax is a great dog, who will make a wonderful friend and companion for someone. Perhaps a quiet home, where he can go for neighborhood walks, and be loved and appreciated for who he is. Could that be you? For more info, or to send an application, please email us at utgoldentails@cs.com
