Maggie
We have a very special girl, who needs your help. Maggie is a beautiful, sweet young girl, who just turned a year old in July. This girl definitely drew the short end of the straw, when it comes to her genetic makeup. Maggie needs to have a full right hip replacement and knee surgery. Her right hip is barely hanging on. You would hardly know it to watch her, as she is always so happy, and she is the first to engage another dog in play! Sometimes she will not put full weight on that right rear leg, and she sits off center. But for the most part, you can hardly tell there is something wrong.
Maggie came to CGRR a few months ago, as a puppy. We kept her for a while, until she was fixed.
Maggie has been in a foster to adopt home for a while, and her foster mom and dad noticed that she seemed uncomfortable at times, and would favor that leg. They had X-rays done, and our vet immediately suggested she see an orthopedic specialist for that hip.
We took Maggie to see Dr. Becker, with Granite Veterinary Specialists. After doing his own X-rays, he came back in and said "uh-oh", this is not good...and gave us the news.
This is so unfair for this young girl to have to go through this, but she is young and strong, and we know she will be in good hands. Dr. Becker is an amazing orthopedic vet, and is board certified to do full hip replacements.
Her medical expense will be around $9,000. Your donation will help this young girl be able to live a better and hopefully pain free life. As always, thanks for your support!
