Millie

Millie is an 18-month-old, energetic young girl. She came from a rural environment where she was left alone too much, and as a growing pup, was bored, and was a bit destructive. She did not have many rules, or the structure a puppy needs. She was surrendered to us because she got out and got after the neighbors’ chickens.

She has lacked basic training and is not a good choice for a first-time dog owner. She was tired of being cooped up every day, while her owner had to work, so when Mom got home, Millie would always try to dart out the door. Millie has been here for a couple of months, and with structure and routine, we have already seen a change in her.

Steve has been working with her on some basics and seen great progress in her. She is quick and eager to learn mostly because of the interaction and attention she is getting. She would be her best with a family that is active and will keep her busy. We do feel that she may be a bit much for toddlers, so a home with older or no children would be best.

She enjoys playing with the other dogs, and she is not shy...she can wrestle with the best of them! She will need a safe place to be, when you are not home.

She is learning to settle down and accept handling, still working on basics and her enthusiasm. We are hoping to find a home, with someone who is willing to continue working with her. Steve will be happy to do some training sessions in your home, to continue to help Millie learn to be the best she can be! Could you the one to help this girl blossom?
